According to its press release, Apple claimed it to be the world's best pro notebook which features a brilliant and larger 16-inch Retina Display, the latest 8-core processors, up to 64GB of memory, next-generation graphics with up to 8GB of VRAM and a new advanced thermal design, making it the most powerful MacBook Pro ever. Besides, Apple gave up its own-designed butterfly mechanism keyboard previously introduced in all previous-gen MacBooks and replaced by, Yes! Welcome back, a scissors mechanism keyboard called Magic Keyboard.

MacBook Pro Display

"16-inch" display size is a newly implemented screen for MacBook Pro which is always provided in 15 or 13-inch. Obviously, it's a larger screen and can be granted as another typically great laptop screen we found in Apple's laptop. This new size screen supports the P3 wide color gamut for True Tone color technology and has a resolution of 3072 x 1920, unfortunately, no HDR. Apple also significantly slims the bezels down more on the left and right. but a little on the top and bottom. Even though, 16-inch MacBook Pro is very slightly bigger than the 2018 model.

Compare to the butterfly keyboard, a new Magic Keyboard delivers 1mm of key travel and is willingly quiet. Apple decided to implement this scissors keyboard is not surprised due to a lot of complaints on the butterfly mechanism and traumatize their users. Apple mentioned more about this refined scissor mechanism that users will get a stable key feel and more potential energy for a responsive key press.

Another improvement is about the return of physical Escape key and an inverted-“T” arrangement for the arrow keys, along with Touch Bar and Touch ID, for a keyboard that delivers the best typing experience ever on a Mac notebook. It is satisfying to see Apple just has done what users prefer and has been looking for.

The processor's thermal throttling was a major issue last year, and even after Apple released a software fix, the conventional wisdom is that Apple's thin body design kept the processors inside it from running at full tilt for as long as they could on other laptops.

MacBook Pro Thermal

Apple makes it better on this new 16-inch MacBook Pro with advanced thermal architecture to enable the whole system to run continuously at high power without interruption for a period of time. The sophisticated fan design features a larger impeller with extended blades along with larger air vents, resulting in an airflow increase of 28 percent, whereas the heat sink is 35 percent larger, allowing significantly greater heat dissipation than before. Such improvements in cooling power together allow the 16-inch MacBook Pro to sustain up to 12 more watts during intensive workloads than the previous design.
