Asus now introduced the gaming laptop Zephyrus G14 at CES 2020. The G14 is the world's first laptop of this size to feature RTX graphics, the company claims to be the most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop in the world, according to Asus.
The laptop comes with a shell that is less than 20mm thin, and Asus says that to ensure it runs at peak performance, it has placed a tailored cooling system in the laptop. The laptop's deck is made of magnesium alloy and is resistant to fingerprints. Also, Asus uses under the palm-rest a honeycomb structure for extra protection without adding too much material to the laptop.
One of the exciting things about design in the Zephyrus G14 is the optional LED matrix on the lid that can be customized to display imported GIFs and other graphics. Besides, users can also create frame-by-frame custom animations and even type text messages on the lid's LED matrix.
As far as the hardware under the hood is concerned, the Zephyrus G14 carries the newest AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS processor together with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. Up to 32GB of 3200MHz RAM and up to 1TB NVMe SSD storage are also accessible. The laptop comes with a 14-inch display, and a 14-inch FHD 120Hz display with AMD FreeSync, a 14-inch FHD 60Hz display, and a 14-inch 1440p 60Hz display are accessible.
With a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port including Power Delivery, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, an HDMI 2.0b port, a headphone, and a micro combo socket, and a Kensington lock thrown in for good measure, there's also a lot of storage in tow here.
The Zephyrus G14 also comes with a battery that, according to Asus, lasts more than 10 hours, but I would really like to test that assertion. The laptop ships with a 180W adapter, but supports 65W charging via USB Type-C when you don't need the discrete GPU, but want to quickly charge your laptop.
