Asus is about to unveil the 3rd-gen of ROG Phone. Now, 91Mobiles has recently revealed the renders of the upcoming ROG Phone 3 with its specs.
The phone itself, as shown in renders, is not much different from its previous-gen, i.e ROG Phone 2. It is supposed to come with minor upgrades, so let's go on.
As we see, there are also large bezels at the front of the display which is perfect with this handset. They are there for a reason – to provide, as per Asus, grip and comfort during gaming. You also have stereo speakers at front-firing and an up-top selfie camera. So, by 2020, the larger bezels are justified.
The front panel may look the same but this time Asus will increase the refresh rate to about 144Hz while ROG Phone 2 packed a 120Hz refresh rate display. ROG Phone 3 will sport a Full-HD+ AMOLED 6.59-inch screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080.
What about the rear? You can note the heat vent and the geometric patterns are still plentiful to show how unique it is. The only new feature is the triple camera array which a primary one is 64MP sensor camera. You'll also find on board an ultra-wide, macro-lens, and dual-LED flash. There is a light-up ROG logo on the rear as normal.
The rest of the gaming elements are located aboard the ROG Phone 3, including the secondary dual-USB Type-C ports on the left edge and the trigger button on the right. The volume keys are on the left edge while on the right is an accented control button. However, one big mistake for some may be the lack of a 3.5mm audio port.
More than this, the flagship Snapdragon 865+ chipset confirms to power the new ROG Phone 3. It surely supports 5G networking, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Asus will offer its gaming phone with a 6,000mAh battery pack, along with 30W fast-charging support.
