Samsung already made a debut of its truly bezel-less 8K smart TV, Galaxy S10 Lite, Note10 Lite, and other impressive gadgets at CES 2020. Yet, it's not finished and has taken the wraps off at the year's electronics show from its Galaxy Chromebook.
Galaxy Chromebook is made with aluminum, measures just 9.9mm thick, and weighs just about 1kg. It is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop that looks elegant and is available in a variety of attractive colors such as Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray. Even more, it includes support for the S-Pen, along with an unusual placement of a webcam. This Galaxy Chromebook features 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution 4K UHD AMOLED display.
Samsung is a well-known manufacturer of OLED panel and the company is the first to bake a Chromebook AMOLED panel. It features a slim 3.9mm bezel and will support the standard HDR400, which will be enabled through an OTA update in the coming days. Plus, the display panel also supports "Ambient EQ" technology to change the color temperature based on the lighting of the room.
Samsung really takes care of the look of the Galaxy Chromebook with the beautifully finished design, it also delivers uncompromising strength under the hood to power itself by the Intel Core-i5 10th-Gen processor, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The company also boasts boot times as fast as 6 seconds, Wi-Fi 6 support for fast Internet connectivity, and the built-in S-Pen you can use to write, draw, and navigate Chrome OS.
Galaxy Chromebook also includes a quick-unlocking fingerprint sensor, which is awesome, even though, the 8MP camera is implemented right above the keyboard where is a bit unusual placement. Nevertheless, the company calls it a rear camera and intent mode it will come in handy. It also features a 1MP webcam on the front. The Galaxy Chromebook comes with a 49.2Wh battery pack that Samsung claims should last you on a single charge for at least 8 hours.
Galaxy Chromebook is the first laptop to be co-engineered as part of the innovation program for Project Athena with Intel. It will go on sale at a starting price of USD999.99 sometime in Q1 2020.
