Sony, Amazon and more skip MWC 2020 due to Coronavirus alongside LG

More to withdraw from MWC 2020?

LG has announced a skip of MWC 2020 due to Coronavirus Outbreak. Later, ZTE, Nvidia, and Ericsson joined LG to break up with MWC 2020 this year to continue losing tech companies for this big annual tech event. It is extremely regretful to see this such thing happened while the upcoming MWC 2020 is coming closer.

Even though GSMA has no intention to cancel the conference as of now and the organizers anticipate going on with the event as scheduled. GSMA confirmed in its press release that it has tracked and evaluated the potential impact of Coronavirus, and emphasized that there has been "minimal impact" on the case so far.

GSMA also implemented several security measures to prevent the virus including improved washing and disinfection in common areas, on-site medical assistance, awareness campaigns, and more. Even a "mic change protocol" will be introduced for speakers and a "no-handshake policy" for the attendants.

The skip of MWC 2020 hasn't stopped there, Amazon has recently come into the list of companies who skip MWC this year due to China's Coronavirus outbreak. At Barcelona this year, Amazon officially said it will not attend to be a part of the event anymore "Due to the outbreak and continued concerns about Novel Coronavirus".

Another update is up here. Sony will live stream on its official YouTube channel as schedule instead of hosting an event at MWC 2020. It happened since Sony stated in its official statement, “As we place the utmost importance on the safety and wellbeing of our customers, partners, media, and employees, we have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from exhibiting and participating at MWC 2020 in Barcelona, Spain.”

This is caused by the Coronavirus outbreak. Sony decided to withdraw from this big annual tech event to give a priority of safety avoiding virus transmission rather than forcing it to launch its conference there.
